Privacy Notice

This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for www.nwtlb.org. This privacy notice applies solely to information collected by this web site. It will notify you of the following:

  1. What personally identifiable information is collected from you through the web site, how it is used and with whom it may be shared.
  2. What choices are available to you regarding the use of your data.
  3. The security procedures in place to protect the misuse of your information.
  4. How you can correct any inaccuracies in our copies of your information.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email, secure forms, or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone. We will use your information to process any forms/transactions that you submit/request or to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us.

We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization other than as necessary to fulfill your request (e.g. to ship an order), to coordinate an adoption with a third party rescue, foster, or temporary home for a dog we are sponsoring, or to securely process and archive your information on external platforms. We will notify you in any of the aforementioned circumstances.*

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy (as needed).

This site relies on APIs from outside services such as (but not limited to) Facebook, Google Apps Script, and Adopt-a-Pet. Data is only retrieved from our accounts on these services for the purpose of providing you current information about our rescue. Our use of these APIs does not send or retrieve any personally identifiable user data to or from their servers. Viewing retrieved content may notify hosting servers that such content was accessed for quota purposes. Embedded, interactive tools from external services (such as Adopt-a-Pet's pet search tool ad at the bottom of our home page) may use your data if you willingly provide it. Additionally, we provide links to these services throughout our site, and you may be subject to their privacy policies and/or terms and conditions if you follow these links.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time unless you are a current adopter or foster. You can do the following at any time†:

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.

Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data) or other personal information (such as phone numbers and addresses), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way*. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page that is collecting this information.

We also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment. If there is information that we do not need to keep (e.g. if an Adoption or Foster Application is not accepted) we will delete it at your request† or after 30 days, whichever is first.

*Any information transmitted through or stored with third parties is subject those parties' privacy policies. If we must share information with a third party to process an adoption, foster, or other request by you, we only share information pertinent to the transaction.

†Any of your information that you request to see may be unencrypted if it is sent over email. We will only communicate this information to you if you ask us to, and by doing so, you understand the security risks of providing specific information over an insecure connection. If you wish to modify or delete information that we have on file, please use this secure form. We will notify you via email when your request has been processed (for your security, we will not specify what changes have been made unless you ask us to).

If you feel that we are not abiding by this privacy policy, you should contact us immediately via email at admin@nwtlb.org
